Manama, 11 October 2023 — The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has signed a strategic partnership with Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (GIG Bahrain) and Takaful International Company (GIG Bahrain – Takaful) , to host Bahrain's first-ever Sustainability in Insurance Forum: From Awareness to Integration. Set to take place on 10th December 2023 at the BIBF’s Headquarters in Bahrain Bay, this event represents a significant step forward in promoting sustainability within Bahrain's insurance industry.

The event will bring together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss how to incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the insurance sector, contributing to Bahrain's sustainable growth.

The forum will cover trending topics relevant to the insurance sector, such as the implementation of a net zero underwriting approach and the management of traditional climate risks from a sustainability perspective.

On this occasion, Dr Ahmed Al Shaikh, the BIBF’s Chief Executive Officer, stated: “Bahrain's sustainability agenda includes various sectors, and the insurance industry is no exception.
