Takaful International Company (gig - Takaful) launches new digital health insurance services

Takaful International Company, in cooperation with Health 360o Ancillary Services Company, has launched the first digital health insurance card through its Smart Takaful application. This provides the Company’s clients with simple and convenient digital solutions to complete health insurance claims through the digital platforms provided by the company at any time and from anywhere. Clients will be able to obtain their health insurance cards through their mobiles, obtain immediate approvals for the required medical procedures and upload paid medical bills for reimbursement processing through the application of the company. Clients will no longer be required to present physical cards to the health service providers in order to be granted with medical services. Instead, the health insurance card can be referred to, whenever needed, through the mobile application at any time and shall immediately be accepted and approved by all medical service providers of Health 360o network that is spread throughout the Kingdom and worldwide, which is one of the largest health networks in the world with more than 7,600 hospitals and health clinics, all of which will be in the service of the digital card holder issued by Takaful International Company. Commenting on this digital transformation, Mr. Essam Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of Takaful International Company, said: "The launch of this service comes as part of company's digital transformation plan to keep abreast of the changes made available by Technology to insurance companies, as we strive to digitize all our insurance activities, which we started three years ago when we were the first to launch digital motor insurance certificate. We were also the first to launch an application that provides insurance solutions through the mobile, towards which we were honored with the Kingdom’s most prestigious award “Winner of eGovernment Excellence Award for Best Application for Smart Devices”. He pointed out that the company is determined to introduce a unique experience and to add value to its clients through its digital leadership in the insurance industry, and that digitization strategies and advanced technologies are our priority list adopted by the Board of Directors in the company's business plan, explaining that the company has an institutional culture based on continuous change and consideration of frameworks and procedures which will have an impact on the insurance industry in the Kingdom. The new service provides a modern mechanism for obtaining medical services and receiving insurance benefits through mobile application. It is hoped that all the paper documents and traditional transactions will be replaced with digital documents that save effort and time. The insured will be able to use his mobile phone to obtain the medical service smoothly, especially that all transactions will be linked to the automated system of the company's health takaful database and that updates to the insurance policy will directly be reflected on the digital card with all the advantages it provides, enabling clients to complete the procedures in record time, which would enhance services and facilitate the smooth completion of the transaction. Dr. Paresh Mhatre, General Manager of Health 360o Ancillary Services Company, said that he was pleased to introduce this service in cooperation with Takaful International Company, explaining that the team formed by the two companies made a commendable effort to make this a reality as the idea of issuing a digital card is not in itself important, but the challenge was on how to manage the policy remotely and to perform safe, non-complex transactions to save the rights of insureds, insurance companies and medical service providers from the misuse that may cause loss to any one of the parties to the insurance process. The team was able to, using the latest technological advancements, make it possible with flexibility and precision at the same time. Health 360 started its operations in 2013 after being established by Takaful International and Paramount Group. The company currently holds the largest share of the health insurance market in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The company has an extensive network around the world, which provides a total of 7600 specialized hospitals and medical clinics around the world. (Takaful),one of the region’s pi-oneering Islamic insurance companies, announced the launch of its new brand identity incorporating a revamped logo that reflect the Company’s forward-thinking momentum following the Company’s Progress towards integration into the Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) in 2015 and GIG’s completion of the process of acquiring a majority stake in Takaful, which has seen it emerge as the takaful arm of GIG.

The launch took place on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at The Ritz Carlton Bahrain in front of a select au-dience that included Mr. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Baker, Executive Director - Financial Institu-tions Supervision, Central Bank of Bahrain; Mr. Jamal Al Hazeem, Chairman, Takaful International; Mr. Essam M. Al Ansari, Acting Chief Executive, Takaful International, member of the Board of Directors and senior members of Takaful and the GIG Group as well as other invited guests.

البحرين – 12 فبراير 2019: أعلنت شركة التكافل الدولية (تكافل)، إحدى شركات التأمين الإسلامي الرائدة في المنطقة، عن إطلاق هويتها الجديدة وتجديد شعارها ليعكس مدى تطلعها لمزيد من التطوير، وذلك بعد توجه الشركة بالاندراج تحت مظلة مجموعة الخليج للتأمين (GIG) في عام 2015 واستكمال المجموعة لعملية الاستحواذ على حصة الغالبية في شركة التكافل الدولية، لتصبح ذراع التأمين الإسلامي لمجموعة الخليج للتأمين.

وقد نظمت الشركة حفلا بمناسبة إطلاق الهوية الجديدة يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 12 فبراير 2019 في فندق الريتز كارلتون البحرين بحضور عدد من الشخصيات، من بينهم السيد عبدالرحمن الباكر المدير التنفيذي لمراقبة المؤسسات المالية في مصرف البحرين المركزي، والسيد جمال هزيم رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة التكافل الدولية، والسيد عصام الأنصاري القائم بأعمال الرئيس التنفيذي في شركة التكافل الدولية، إضافة الى اعضاء مجلس الإدارة ومدراء وممثلي شركة التكافل الدولية ومجموعة الخليج للتأمين، الى جانب عدد من الضيوف المدعوين.

GIC Takaful - Bahrain announced the appointment of Mr. Essam Mohammed Al Ansari as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Essam is appointed Chief Executive Officer days after the company announced its new identity after joining the Gulf Insurance Group at the ceremony held recently at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.

Mr. Essam Al Ansari held several senior positions in the company, where he initially served as Deputy General Manager when he joined the company in 2006. He has an extensive insurance experience for more than thirty years in the Bahraini and Gulf insurance market where he worked before joining the company.

Prior to that, he worked for the Cooperative Insurance Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for more than seven years during which he held several leading positions in the company where he acquired insurance expertise and was Its direct link with major international reinsurance companies’

Mr. Essam holds the FCII from the Chartered Insurance Institute of the United Kingdom (CII), which is the highest insurance qualification in the world and does not exceed 6,000 people worldwide from the insurance industry. He is an active member of the Bahrain Insurance Association Contribution to the development of the insurance business in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

ويأتي تعين السيد عصام في منصب الرئيس التنفيذي بعد أيام من اعلان الشركة عن هويتها الجديدة بعد انضمامها لمجموعة الخليج للتامين في الحفل الذي أقيم مؤخرا في فندق الرتز كارلتون.

يذكر ان السيد عصام الأنصاري كان قد تقلد عدة مناصب قيادية في الشركة، حيث شغل منصب نائب المدير العام عند انضمامه للشركة في العام 2006 و يمتلك خبرة تأمينية طويلة امتدت لأكثر من ثلاثون عاما قضاها في سوق التامين البحريني والخليجي حيث كان يشغل قبل انضمامه للشركة منصب مساعد المدير العام في شركة البحرين الوطنية للتامين مسؤولا عن جميع عملياتها الفنية للتأمينات العامة وكان قبل ذلك قد عمل في الشركة التعاونية للتامين بالمملكة العربية السعودية لفترة تجاوزت السبعة أعوام تقلد خلالها لعدد من الوظائف القيادية بالشركة حيث اكتسب خلالها خبرات تأمينية وكان له ارتباط مباشر مع كبريات شركات اعادة التامين العالمية.

يحمل السيد عصام شهادة الزمالة المتخصصة في التامين FCII من معهد التأمين القانوني بالمملكة المتحدة (CII) والتي تعد أعلى مؤهل تأميني على مستوى العالم و الذي لا يتجاوز الحاصلين عليه 6 آلاف شخص عالميا من العاملين في قطاع التأمين و هو عضو فعال في جمعية التامين البحرينية وله إسهامات قيمة في تطور ورقي العمل التأميني في

GIG - Takaful gig - Bahrain held its annual employees’ ceremony at Reef resort Manama, attended by employees of both the companies. Various entertainment program and games were included and winners from both companies received fabulous prizes. The ceremony was the second gathering for the employees of both the companies.

Mr. Ebrahim Al Rayes, Chief Executive Officer of gig - Bahrain said that this event aimed at strengthening and providing a good opportunity for better acquaintance for the employees of both the companies

Mr. Essam Mohammed Al Ansari, Chief Executive Officer of gig - Takaful, stated that such gatherings provide an appropriate platform for closer cooperation and participation, a way out of the formal framework and imprinting a social impact on employees.
